Default Case-mod.com are a bunch of tossers

I ordered the case for my new computer from Case-mod.com and paid for shipping that would get it here in one day. That was a week ago. Earlier this week I went back to the website and now the item list says it won't be in stock until October 31! I emailed them to cancel my order and the email got bounced back, I tried to call them for three days (morning, noon, and evening) and their "voicemail" just says, "No one is here to take your call. Please call back later" and hangs up on you.

Their website says that once an order is placed they "cannot guarantee" that they will cancel it.

Horseshit. I just got off the phone with my credit card company - I'm disputing the charge. Yeah, they charged my card but didn't ship anything! The industry standard practice is to take the order but only charge the card when the item comes in/is shipped.

Avoid case-mod.com if you want your parts in a reasonable time and no-hassle buying. They have attractive prices (ordering elsewhere added over $50 to my computer), but it's just not worth it.

Uh, they don't, generally (not as far as I know). It's of the Top Gear influence, I think images/smilies/wink.gif

I had a similar, albeit less arduous, experience with nexfan.com
Gotta love how fast some "companies" charge your card and then take their sweet time letting you know there were problems on their end that will seriously delay your order.

That's what sucks about the smaller sites. They might have some attractive prices, but you never know if they're reputable.

Case-mod.com currently has a 7.4 rating on resellerratings.com (Linky) but that's only from 7 ratings in the past 6 months versus newegg's 2523 and a rating of 9.89 (Linky) which is why I tend to stick to newegg or other reputable sites unless I really feel that I'll be getting a better deal in the end.

I made a similar experience with a local PC parts shop. I ordered a CPU, the online shop said "3 items stock" at the time. After I placed the order, my personal account said that the item is not in stock, but ordered and due the following week. I sent an e-mail asking why it isn't in stock when the shop said it is. They replied that "in stock" does show how many they actually have, but it doesn't display if the items have been reserved for other customers already, such as in this case.

So either their system is crap or at least customer-unfriendly, or they are attracting potential buyers by pretending they have a good they actually don't have. images/smilies/thumbdown.gif

Same some money, forgo the water-cooling idea, and get the Antec 900.

Spend a bit more than that and get the Antec P182: http://www.directron.com/p182.html

My new case is a P182, it's a big improvement over the TT Tsunami, much quieter cooling and overall improved design. Wire management is really easy with this case, it's got some notches cut out so you can route most of the wiring on the back panel.
