I was building my PC the other day...at last!!! All went well and i was ready to fire it up for the first time...I pushed the button, it started the usual POST procedure and then, as i thought that it can't be THAT easy, it showed me this message. It was just before the OS startup. "Chassis Intruder Detected. System Halted!" I can only guess it is from a stupid system on my mobo (Asus P5Q Deluxe). But i didn't remove the f*&$ing jumper...Anybody have the sligjtest idea?

Hmm. I have an ASUS A8N-32 SLi Deluxe, the BIOS always says that the chassis open, and my LAN cables all have shorts in them.
![]() Is the jumper in place? I would remove it, put it back (check it was in the right place when you got it) and then check nothing is shorting on the back of the board. |

Are you sure you have your power leads hooked up correctly? The chassis connector is right next to the power LED, the HD LED, etc.

Everything is set up correctly! This is not the first time i build a PC. But it IS the first time with an ASUS mobo. The jumper is where it should be. I never removed it. Nothing is shorting. I am trying some things right now...will get back to you as soon as i see some results!

There may be an option in the BIOS where you can turn the intrusion detection off. And you should be able to put it on:
halt on - no errors |

This is the enormous stupidity of ASUS! there is no way, apart from the jumper that you can disable the system. I checked the BIOS, i checked the newer versions for my mobo...nothing! You can't disable it! I found some solutions...some simple...other more complicated. We shall see!
