Experienced Crash Test Dummy

Finally got around to taking some proper snaps of my player:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This thing is WICKED! supported audio formats:
audio output level: up to 74 dB BBE enhancements supported video formats (in 320x240 resolution)
video out via optional cable (PAL/NTSC) internal storage: flash 4 GB external storage: SD or MMC card (currently 16 GB per card max) interface: touchscreen + 3 external buttons connection: recognized as USB mass storage device, compatible with windows newer than 98, linux, apple, etc.. battery life (laboratory tested):
other features:
dimensions: 78.0 X 55.4 X 16.6 mm (W X D X H) weight: 91g price: €162 (without extra SD card), i have an extra 4 GB one. So glad i didn't go for the iPooed. For the same price i got a much much better player than the nano, and in my opinion a lot better player than the big 5G (not counting the storage, but that's easily fixed with 2 16 GB SD cards and with local prices you still make a profit compared to the iPooed), it just has more features, feels nicer, and is much more user friendly, seeing it's not locked to specific software and formats and you know the rest... Unless it's very compact, it doesn't look all that amazing. There are media players out there with upwards of 60 and 80 gigs for the equivalent price (when converted to USD). Though a touchscreen IS a nice feature as long as it doesn't pick up fingerprint smudges easily.

And this is how large it is. It's only an estimated size, by holding it to the screen. Will work on an lcd with 0.27 pixel pitch if you run it on native res. ![]() And the touchscreen is really nice, it does collect smudges, like every other glossy touchscreen, but it's VERY scratch resistant and all the smudges go away with a single t-shirt wipe. I didn't say that it was a bad player. I said for a similar price in USD, there are other options. But I can see expandable memory being useful once the size limit rises and prices fall.

For that you'd need a dock and specialised software or an aux plug that could mimic a remote. A normal mp3 player with just an aux connection won't do shit.

Ran out of cam battery, a 15 minute charge should be enough for a few snaps. bbs
i think he wants to control the player through his car, not just listen to it in the car. |

I also have this player and I LOVE it!! Watched the Top Gear special on my flight from Seoul to San Francisco. I have had 12 MP3 players in the last year, so I have PLENTY of experience to back this up... this thing ROCKS!!!
If you want a flash memory based player that handles it all, this is it. The Korean version even offers DMB, which is pretty bad ass all by itself. The Korean version also offers a Korean to English dictionary complete with audio samples of every word! I am pretty sure that hackers out there are building dictionaries for other languages too, but I forget which forum I saw that on. It also plays flash based games too!

I think it's the smallest size for the screen resolution for it still to be readable. The pixel pitch is only 0.17 milimeter, ffs. :S
EDIT: what's dmb?

DMB is digital television, it is really only done on a large scale in Korea right now, but it is pretty frickin' cool! They are launching a test version in Europe very soon... maybe even this month. Check out http://iaudiophile.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=53 for the latest and greatest on this thing.
