from a long time skype user and enthusiast i can say i've seen the reviews and pics of the philips one, and to be honest, im not all that impressed.
if you're talking about this the KX-TG9000 as the panasonic up and coming model, its good in theory, but im not impressed with that either. if you want my recommendation, i would suggest that if you want a skype cordless handset, you should stick with a good DECT handset setup for the landline and get a skype wifi phone such as the d-link DPH-540, the netgear SPH101, or the belkin "Wi-Fi phone for skype". my preference in terms of wifi phone being between the netgear and the belkin, though it looks like more thought has gone into the netgear in terms of design and functionality dual mode phones are going to be big, but as it stands, they just arent good enough at the moment. i suggest if you want a dual mode phone, wait till around 2008 or late 2007, and if you dont mind two handsets, these single mode wifi phones are excellent combined with a good dect phone. just my two pennies harvsta |
