Default Dell has a possible answer to the Mac Book Air?

http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebo...amo--Laptop/p1

seems dell has this "adamo" brand stashed away to take on the Air.... if they can do it and make it more practical (1 USB port FTL) it'll be worth having.

Does MBA really need an answer? It's pretty pointless concept. There are better alternatives to MBA already.

What other really thin notebook runs OS X, that isn't a MacBook?

Gonna have to go with geeman. The only people who look at a regular thin notebook and think "wow, that's just too heavy and too practical for me" are the same people who want to spend more money for less, and make it have OS X.

What is wrong with regular MacBook? Sure it is a bit thicker (0.19" to be exact) than MBA, but the footprint is similar so the portability is about the same and it's better in pretty much all other ways.
Also many PC laptops can be made in to Hackintoshes if you really can't live without OS X.

Great now trendy tools can experience the pain of owning a Dell too.

I picked up a Dell Studio 15, they copied a lot of MacBook and Sony VAIO elements, its nice so far but i know how long Dells are built to last, we'll see how long this will died on me (at least my work is reimburse me for it, so no big deal to me)

Meh Dells aren't too bad. Their monitors are pretty good (I'm using a Dell 2408FPW at the moment). At work we have a bunch of old OptiPlexes (2 GHz speed demons) that are pretty solid.

^ yeah i used to think the dell machines here at uni were slightly on the gash side.... but after they filled engineering with even crummier viglen machines, the dells look like a blessing. its a shame theyre all in the library being used by the english students to browse facebook.

the viglen boxes we get are very distinctly built to a very tight price. so cheap i believe the components arent actually up to the task of hard core engineering work. as they all need dedicated graphics for the CAD stuff i'd imagine all the money went on a half decent quadro card and then the rest (about 50p) spent on the rest.

cant see why they have to have Quadros like, its not like anyone in engineering does anything that hard core. a cheaper gaming grade card would of sufficed i bet.

Figures.. Dell is losing blood nowadays, no longer people go to their site to customize gigantic laptops for their freshman kids, they just buy Macs.. Dell realizes that they are losing the casual consumer market (they never held the market imho), and now take on Apple, quite badly (stupidly). Gotta agree with geeman, why develop a competitor against an already failed product? (even fanboys gotta admit Macbook Air didn't float anyone's boat, except theirs)

There is also this, which made my day..
