That stuff works without activation for 30 days. But it is not included in the home basic version of winvista

I can live without aero, but the Flip 3D does seem useful. So home premium doesn't have that feature? Only Ultimate does? Thanks for the info so far.

Flip 3d is on all versions except home basic. FLIP 3D IS NOT THE SAME AS ALT-TABBING. It is a separate function, by default it has an icon in the quicklaunch toolbar. Flip 3d is a function of Aero, it is impossible to have Flip 3d without Aero, as Aero is the thing that makes windows so easily scalable that they can be used in Flip 3d.

I tried using winkey+tab method, but it doesn't bring up the Flip 3D window. I'm trying this on a Sempron 3100 (@2.3ghz) with 1GB of ram and Nvidia FX5500 graphics card. Is it because the system is too shitty to support it? Thanks.

Windows will disable features if the computer doesn't support them, or at least if the hardware doesn't meet what Microsoft thinks the computer needs to run it (BitLocker, for example).

What's your Windows Experience Index scores? That should help see what's up.

In some cases, even if Aero is enabled, flip 3D is enabled. In that case use the second icon on the default quick launch bar (the one besides the 'show desktop' button - it has the caption "Switch bitween windows").
