Default Encoding of videos

I know this is off topic.

Anyone know what Vuk uses to encode the videos?

He does a great job, I have tryed different software and can't get it right.

well when i encode stuff i use adobe premier, but there is some free software out there that will do just as good.

I believe he still uses Gordian Knot, not sure tho. images/smilies/smile.gif

Auto Guardian Knot is very simple to use. It has less options and possibilities than Guardian Knot, but it gets you going in a matter of seconds. He uses the XviD.

The codec is open source (free) and the program is also free.

If you plan on encoding yourself, use a tutorial first, it helps you downloading and installing the right stuff.

u just don't know how to use it jeffy =]

virtualdub can export to a multitude of formats, using a multitude
of compression engines, including divx =]

The reason it's so huge might be because your not compressing the video, but instead decompressing it into raw AVI. You have to make sure to set the compression settings for it.

yeah i knew it was uncompressed avi, I just didn't tinker enough to get it to do divX. It is a nice free program though. I'll mess around with it some more.
