Default Free Video Encoder

Can anyone point me to a download of a free video encoder (that'll do wmv, avi, divx etc) that does the whole file and doesn't put a stupid watermark on?

All I can find is ones that do 2 secs or put a logo right in the middle of the screen!

Cheers

Chris

p.s. I've tried using tmpgenc but it can't seem to find the audio on some files.

Virtualdub can do DivX, Xvid, and such, and it's freeware so you won't get watermarks. You can also do some basic editing with it.

On the downside it cannot open ASF format(read: Windows Media files) or encode MPEG, and it's a bit hard to use.

Can't remember the addy, but google with "Virtualdub" and you should find it.

VirtualDub does it all, and if its not enough, there are variants like VirtualDubMod that do more like asf et al.

TMPG is great for all things MPEG1/2 related.

And if Virtual Dub and Xvid isn't enough you can always get Windows Media Encoder (Google it) which is also free and can encode videos into WMV.
