also, is buying one off ebay a good idea?

You can also buy stuff on eBay to get a used product for a lower price.

I wouldn't buy Apple stuff from eBay, lots of scammers out there "selling" Apple products.

If its eBay, around £20,000. But seriously. Not an iPhone. N95 gives you features of the iPhone with a 5MP camera. N80 is a great phone and you'll be making a sorta downgrade. Get iPod tocuh. However if you REAAAAAALLLLY want an iPhone (probably to look cool) just follow some safety guidlines. Look at the feedback, but also see people who left feedback, if they have 0 feedback themselves, chances are they have made a dummy account to give them feedback.

Not in the case of the iPhone. A 4GB model usually sells for around $400 when it's originally just $299, mainly because the 4GB model is so hard to find in stores these days.

An 8GB iPhone also sells around $100 more than you would pay for retail, because people who'd bid on it are from countries where the iPhone isn't offered for sale, thus wouldn't mind paying a premium.

Even used phones sell near or at the same price you'd normally pay retail for.
