Default Help with Logitech G25

the steering wheel is not detecting the axis for left and right movement, how do i fix the problem?

btw, the steering wheel is not faulty, i took it back to Frys and got a new one, and it still gave me the same problem in winXP. Drivers and everything loads like it should, pedal and shifter all work 100%, but the steering wheel is not picking up any movement, why is that? the paddles and the button on the wheel works, so im assuming everything is working.

the plug needs its own dedicated socket in order to power the wheel. i was fiddling around with the sockets and got it to work. its really confusing because the LED light comes on, so you think the whole system is working, but its not, and it wont work until you plug it in a proper socket, not the extention cord.

Figured as much that's why I asked you if you were having feedback from the wheel while turning (In the New Toys Thread) images/smilies/smile.gif.

To steer (pun intended) this topic a little bit into a different direction. How are you liking it? I'm considering replacing my 8 year old SideWinder with this. images/smilies/ohmy.gif

like what everyone says. worth every penny.

however, there are lots of problems, so dont expect to run all the games smoothly, you need to do lots of calibration and customization.

btw... G25 is acting a bit funny this morning, the wheel position does not sync with LFS's wheel. everytime i start the game, the in game wheel position will be off, pointing to 2'o clock direction, regardless what i settings im running.

And NO, Recalibrate the Axes in LFS does not work, it fixes the wheel sync problem allright, at a cost of it will jam the steering wheel, making it totally undrivable.

LFS does that with my POS too. Putting it on full lock left and then full lock right usually solves the problem.

images/smilies/thumbsup.gif Thanks. I have a question though, is it possible to lock the steering rotation(?)/degree(?) to a smaller number for extra realism when racing racing cars with a small steering lock? And i've read that the manual shifter just looks nice instead of being really functional, any opinions on that? And does the flappypedal have a notable click when you shift up or down?

Thanks for the help!

^ It is possible to change the angle used. On PC anyway. There is a tool in which you can set lots of settings.

And the shifter does fully work, although I only have one game that can use it (TDU). I don't know about LFS.

yes, you can change the steering ratio, lock and deadzone via the logitech driver or in the game.

As for flappy paddle, it has a distinctive click when you change gear, its very crisp and honestly, the paddles feels better than some real cars' paddle system.

The shifter / Gear lever on the other hand is not so pleasant, it works in both H mode and sequential mode, but since the pedals are so close together, doing heel and toe and left foot braking can be a problem since i have size 12 feet (UK). My right foot is so big, that when i step on the throttle, i can almost touch the brakes with my big toe. In H Mode the shifter lacks feel and throw, it changes gear properly but doesnt like being abused, which is why im using sequential mode now, treating it like a touring car's sequential box, pull to shift up and push to change down. Also, one other noticable issues with the gearlever is that when you chang from 4th down to 3rd, it is very easy to put it back in 1st by mistake.

But none of the small problems should stop you from buying one.. this is brilliant, and i strongly recommend it for racing games.

I would say it takes practice on the H Shifter. I've been racing with the H Shifter (Thats what I paid for!! LOL). I've seen friends put the gears into 1st instead of 3...

Too bad my PC is not meeting the expectations... Still have a tube monitor (LOL)
