I'm doubting this will be fixed in 2.0.0.8. The problem has been around well before even FF 1.X....and it doesn't seem to be plug-in/extension/theme related. I've seen this bug on virgin Firefox installs.

I've never had that problem, I've never used that hotkey either. Now that I've used it once to try it out, we'll see if it starts happening.

Man, this problem has been flaring up again with the latest update....... Time to go fix it again....I know the latest version has been out for awhile, but I've been lazily putting off applying the fix images/smilies/smile.gif

I never use that hotkey to search, I rather use CTRL + F or SHIFT + 7 (= /). However, I have just tried the '-option, and it does open a simple search for me. Nevertheless, it properly gives me a ' when I'm typing in a text box like here now. I've used Firefox pretty much since it came up, and I've never experienced this problem. Maybe it's the differences in keyboard layout?

It is indeed very strange how this problem affects some, but never others. If you google it, you'll see that a ton of people have been plagued by this bug for years.

I'm guessing it has something to do with a Windows setting, or something else that's installed, because I have this issue eventually spring up even after doing a format and Windows re-install.
