i find the easiest way is to use the 2 following programs...

DVD Decrypter to rip the movie to your haddrive
AutoGK to do an all in one compression into divx or xvid. You just set the settings and it'll do all the audio tweaks and video compression for you...

depending on system can take as little as 2 hours to compress and upward.

Buy a DVD recorder (as Tom Ford would say "Cheap as chips")

Then use DVD Shrink (Freeware)

Then record. No Problems

I also highly recommend getting a DVD burner! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I used to make tonnes of Div-X movies off of DVDs, but it can be a pretty lengthy and annoying process. There is nothing more annoying than getting you're VOBs rendered to DivX and then finding some video or audio glitch, forcing you to start all over again.

I just recently bought a LG DVD burner, and to get a practically perfect quality burn of a DVD that will play in your DVD player (they've worked in all the machines I've tested so far, even the ancient 1st generation DVD players) all you have to do is insert the DVD in one drive, insert the blank in the other, click maybe half a dozen buttons in DVD Shrink and wait till the burn is done.

All the hassle I've saved myself by not having to fiddle around with Div-X ripping is more than worth the price of a DVD burner.

DVD burner is useful for other things too, I have more than 80 DVD-RWs and I don't have a single copied DVD.

it does what all those 10 programs do for you automatically. just tell it what res you want, and how many cd's you want it to be and it'll do the rest.

I fixed that in the rules for the FTP. Bumping old threads immediately disqualifies anyone wanting an FTP account.
