Best thing i to run your ram 1:1 with your fsb.
indeed. and i recently read that Athlon 64 3000+ overclocked extremely well. With two out of three cpu's they could hit 2.7GHz (a 50% overclock) with stock cooling. the HT bus would be 4x300MHz then, instead of the default 4x200=800 MHz.
so if you would buy 550MHz mem (2x275MHz) you could overclock with a 1:1 ram to fsb and have your proc run at 2.475GHz... (to be on the safe side)

SWEET

so DVD+R and DVD-R are pretty much identical?... lets say if I want to burn DVD's so I can watch on the TV... do I use DVD+R or - and if I want to burn Vids just for storage... which format should I use?

It depends what your stand alone dvd player works with, i believe newer ones support both, in the past dvd- used to be more popular, now its about even, dvd-ram isn't used that much anymore.

So I need PC4400 or something, because I don't think my MoBo will support any more than PC3200?

Well, its all a gamble, who say's your motherboard and cpu would be able to handle such a high htt bus?

The best ram is the ram with the highest frequency with the lowest timeings. But thats will cost some serious $$$

Plus, you can't really have both, the higher the frequency the higher the timeings most of the time. And visa versa.

http://www.shop4memory.com/products/ddr-ram.asp

Thats where i bought my memory from last time.

Have a look around, try to find some memory with in your price range and that will be able to handle the expected htt bus you will be seeking to achieve.

But if i were you i'd read some articles and the likes. see what other people are getting with simuar specs to yours.

And theres also the possiblity to overclock your ram, but I don't wanna get into that , google.com does wonders.

And from what I've seen a 300mhz htt bus pretty near the limit of the nforce 3 boards + 90nm cpu's.

Yeah, good luck.

But, when ram and the extra coolers, special mobo's come into the picture the costs can rise quickly, so be warned images/smilies/smile.gif
