I'm not too fond of wireless, you have to charge it and everything, and a wire isn't the end of the world, I wouldn't pay and extra $30 to get rid of it

The mx700 i own does pretty well with batteries. And it comes with its own recharge bay. So if u leave it in there overnight every 2 days you should have no probs.

I myself have noticed nothing about lag (most of the reports are very subjective, the same goes with lcd refresh times, its all bs), what so ever. But I did want the 510. I had huge probs forgetting to put the mouse in the recharge thing. But in the end the freedom of movement is nice.

Another thing people forget is that the wireless mouses are quite a bit more heavier. In the start i had huge probs with that. But that went away, gradualy.

My MX700 has seen some regular batteries, when I need it and can't wait 1 or 2 minutes (that give me 5 or 10 of use) to recharge it. But it starts blinking way before I need to recharge it (sometimes I take 1 or 2 days), so I just recharge it at night (if I remember).

That's the one I ordered. A red MX510. I had to ask my godfather to order it in France, and I'll collect it Friday, when I get there, since we can't get a red one in Portugal. And from my searches, the blue is far more common and easy to get than the red.

MX700 is just a wireless version of the MX500. I have the MX700, it's exactly like the MX500 just no cord.

I've never noticed a lag with a wireless mouse, but some of them do suck the juice down pretty quickly.
