Default IP Camera

Well hello there.

I'm thinking about getting one of these cams off ebay. What do you think?

I'm planning to mount it upside down under the eave of my house but it's not weather proof, do think it would be ok? images/smilies/wacko.gif

It's a long shot, but I was just wondering if anyone else might have one of these on here because they appear to be quite popular.

Cheers,
Mike 8)

Looks cool, just coat the seams and connections with some sort of sealant or RTV and you should be good to go for most things...

Many thanks for the reply!

Really excited about ordering it images/smilies/lol.gif . Just wanted to see if anyone knew if they were any good or not. By the way, all the connectors will be inside, its literally only the camera unit itself which will be kept outside, and upside down!

We had one in our house about a year or 2 ago because we suspected our maid was stealing stuff, worked pretty well... we could control it remotely, digital zoom it and it will automatically record into its own mini HD if it detects motion and email my dad right away

That looks really cool, was it expensive?

I'm really worried about getting it working over the internet, do you have any tips?

we bought it at the shop and when we were looking at it, I called my friend to log on to test it out. We sacrificed one of our connections to run this camera as we had trouble accessing it through the router, didn't know which ports to forward. Other than that its pretty straight forward, we bought it for about $200USD

Well it's arrived, very happy with. I wonder if you could help me with this problem images/smilies/smile.gif .

All I'm trying to do is to set it up so I can view it from anywhere on the internet; but having some difficulty!

The internal address for the camera is 192.168.0.6
I'm using a netgear DG834G router.
The dynamic address I've got for my router is http://mikewillans.homeip.net .

What kind of settings do I need to enter into this box?
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g113/MikeWillans/6ebd400f.jpg

Here's another shot of the server settings if that's any help.

I'll love you for ever if you help me!

What would I need to type into the address bar to access it? I 'think' it should be something like this: http://mikewillans.homeip.net:70 ...is that right or completly wrong?!

i've seen that camera with the USB nerf missle launchers hooked to it. They used the cam for a motion detector for the missles... very funny. Ok I found it:

probably not the same camera now that I see it again... but heck thats cool.
