Ah good old Mac haters images/smilies/tongue.gif By far the best and most innovative phone/organiser yet. Awesome interface and amazing functionality...truely Apple at it's best. Will be ordering one as soon as I can get it.

And who needs 3G when it has WiFi? Free calls on Skype and free internet anyone? Will probably be 3G in the UK cause EDGE doesn't exist in Europe images/smilies/smile.gif This'll be a another big hit IMO. Go Apple!

If you're feeling sceptical have a look at the OS demos on the Apple site here: http://www.apple.com/iphone Application integration at its best images/smilies/biggrin.gif

GMS-only? CDMA has the best and fastest data networks in the U.S. right now, yet they go with EGDE.

Pathetic.

Don't care, I still want one.

I like that it's GSM so that I can use it outside the country. Edge may be slow, but the seamless transition to wifi more than makes up for the lack of 3G data.

Are people's hands getting smaller? Why did they make it 12mm thick. I always hated the way that Nanos were so thin. Seems like a good combination. Im glad they didn't make a CDMA version. The WIFI almost makes up for that.

They chose one of the worst cellular providers.. images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Cingular all around is terrible (dont try to argue with me, I have had them all and there is plenty of data to back me up, unless you have Sprint images/smilies/lol.gif ) They should have stuck with unlocked phones to force providers to accept locked phones.

I personally applaud the choice, because if I have to be locked into a 2 year contract, I would prefer to be locked into a provider i'm very happy with. I have had no problems whatsoever with Cingular, and would recommend them over any other provider (especially T-mobile, Verizon and Sprint).

Google SERO and you'll see how awesome Sprint really is. The SERO plans are, hands-down, the best.

Plans that you get as a result of knowing an employee... I see no advantage to that, especially since I don't know any Sprint employees.

I have had problems with Sprint coverage and received TERRIBLE support in getting my problems solved, along with the downright rude people who work in their stores. I have had an overall better experience with Cingular (knowledgeable people, decent tech support, coverage where I want it, etc...)

SERO isn't top secret. Even a few weeks ago there was open "registration" (meaning you could use a certain email address and it would work).

About Sprint customer service, it sucks. Thankfully, I've only had to call a few times and eventually everything was straightened out. I used to have Cingular (before Cingular took over my local GSM provider) but when I moved out to Corona from Anaheim I had zero service, not a single tower. I had to switch, and at that time my friend hooked me up with Sprint (he's an employee). Most of my friends have Sprint so it works out great for me.

Palm has been doing the phone/camera/PDA/audio-player thing for years, and for a couple hundred bucks less.

Oh, right, but this says "I'm hipper than you".
