I recently received a 3G iPhone as a gift but my Safari keeps crashing! Anyone else getting this problem?

Is 2.0.1 out already? This is supposed to fix some major bugs.

On a sidenote, Safari on my 2G crashed constantly on hompages with a lot of images (like the Random Carsightings Thread).

I don't visit the forums all that often with the iPhone, but the few times I did it was no problem for me...

Is your iPhone jailbroken and does it have Installer apps installed? I've found those to wreak havoc at times.

Also, if it was a used phone, you should probably do a total reset on it.

Okay, make sure all your stuff is backed up (iTunes Sync) and do a Restore.

Or you can try a "Reset All Settings" first.

My safari crashes all the time but it restarts so quickly that I don't even care. Never gave it enough thought to figure out what pages it does it on.

Mine is pretty stable unless I throw about 10 simultaneous open web pages at it, then it gets iffy especially if there's animated content.

I usually "proper-close" safari after longer sessions, so that maybe a reason. Hold the HOmebutton until Safari closes, then its completely shut down...

I got a package through the post today for someone that isn't me, but it's my address. I think it might be an iPhone, because it's in an 02 package. images/smilies/lol.gif

Should I keep it?

Puh... I once received 2 books from amazon where you could clearly see that my address stamp was over the original one. I kept that.
But with something bigger and traceable... I wouldn't. Aks for a finders fee! images/smilies/wink.gif
