Ipod touch prices won't come down because the iphone doesn't really cost 199$. The price is subsidized so if you were to buy a iphone with no contract it would cost around 500 Euro. So touch prices will stay unchanged.

N95 is always a nice phone, but you should also take a look at the LG Voyagar

I have the LG Venus which is pretty nice. Dont get the name of the phone to stop you from buying the phone. It's an awesome phone. And since this is FinalGear

well N95 8gb has 5Mp camera, dvd like recording quality (640x480 30fps), GPS, WiFi, accelerometer(your screen will rotate between landscape/potrait by rotating your phone), huge 2.8" screen, 8gb storage, more apps than other makes of phones, improved slider over normal N95.

Iphone doesn't even come close features wise

cons of N95 8gb so that i won't look like a fanboy : no touchsreen, QVGA resolution, lack of xenon flash(not good for nightaking photos)

I would have to agree with that one. My friend had a Chocolate and moved up to the venus and absolutely loves it. He recommended it to me. It was out of budget for me (even w/discounts) but you may like it.

other than the slider the N95 8GB has double of N95 ram (128MB vs 64MB)

In Australia, it will be available on July 11. I can understand a PDA and a phone like the I-Mate 8502. I just can see the logic of an MP3 player and a phone. I think SonyEricsson is rubbish and anything by LG is so rubbish I would rather a carrier pigeon or two tin cans with string between them, I know that would work.

I have always used Nokia but since they recently changed their OS, they have gone downhill and the reverse for Motorola. The Motorola V9 Razr2 is a fantastic phone, I was trepidatious about getting one when it was recommended by a friend, also if you want to see a hot chick type 'Motorola V9 Razr 2' into youtube for Nikolett Barabas.

From what I have seen of the iPhone, it is too complicated for a phone. The 16Gb will be on a $100/month plan, I am on a $80/month on Telstra. All phone companies are seemingly the same here, can't comment anywhere else but Telstra is better than the other 'real' carriers.

I am open to having a look at the iPhone though but will wait till it has settled into the enviroment.

I have mostly been a nokia user, I had a few samsungs, a few sony ericssons and a HTC but 80% of my phones were nokia. They build quality is constantly going downhill and the N95 is the last nokia I'll be getting for a good while. After playing with a iphone, the build quality and the speed/smoothness of the UI blew me away. The camera isn't good compared to the N95 but it's only for quick snaps anyway and I don't care.
