Back in my day we didn't have Google! We had to use boolean operators! And I had to walk to school, four -no FIVE miles butt naked through 6 feet of snow, uphill BOTH ways!

And I was glad to walk to school and have those boolean operators!

Actually Apple is not that bad when it comes to DRM, there are lots of holes to get around it and most of it was forced on Apple by the damn RIAA. Apple has done a pretty good job following the letter of the law, but not the spirit of it by refusing to close the "holes" that let people get around the DRM junk.

Ha! Apple loves its DRM! The only reason they're able to keep a hold on the market at the moment is because of their DRM: anyone wanting to switch to a different player will have to buy the new player and then pay for their music again, either by cash or by the time it takes to burn all of your music to CDs, re-rip them to MP3s and key in the ID3 tags; and also loss of the quality that you paid for.

That's as if I demanded you pay me a million bucks right now for breathing my air. Obviously, that's ridiculous. So I tell you I'll only charge you a dollar a month. Not so bad, huh? Well, you're still paying for air!!

Ok, as I said before, I don't use the iTunes store so I can't speak about that, but every AAC file I have on my machine I have been able to convert to MP3 using iTunes.

I think it has more to do with the fact that iTunes is what organizes the music on the iPod, not the iPod itself. It's easy to organize one set of music and just make multiple copies of it for multiple iPods, but how would you use the iPod's simplistic interface to keep track of two pre-organized music collections?
