| Ok - just got my first iPod off ebay: a 4th gen 20GB. I put about 250 songs on it using iTunes and that went smoothly, but when I go to Music > Artists > it only shows about half the artists (stops at the letter M) why doesn't it show them all? The same is true for Albums - It only shows the albums from the first half of the artists. Now if I go to Songs - They all show up, but for some, it only shows the file name instead of the id3 title tag, and when I play the songs some show the id3 tags and some just show the filename. I went to great pains to ensure that all my mp3s are properly tagged and all mp3s are encoded the exact same way (320kbs stereo), so what's the deal here? My other question: When in shuffle mode, It seems that if I skip through the songs quickly, sometimes there is long wait before it will start playing the next song, like the hard drive is going slowly or something. Is this normal or a bad sign? Thanks! your pal Jeffy | |

| Well, I deleted all the files and used Winamp to tranfer them all again. No problems this time. Dang iTunes doesn't know how to handle ID3 tags that well. I tried using the "covert ID3 tags" option several times and it didn't seem to do anything accept freeze once in awhile

Its so good, its the only program I've purchased in about the last 3-years. I can't answer your first question...it seems odd. If all the songs are being displayed in All Songs, then we know the songs are on the iPod, but if they don't display under artists, thats just weird. Sorry...can't help. Shuffle mode is typically laggy when quickly skipping through songs. I find that the less space on the H/D, the slower it is...but it is normal I think. The iPod Mini's are the worst because of their small H/D. |
