Is RCA audio equipment as bad as I'm hearing?

There's a set of surround sound speakers with receiver and sub on craigslist, and it looks pretty tempting. Thing is, nearly every single review I've read on Amazon says that RCA stuff is crap, breaks, etc. Would I be falling into a trap by buying this?

Yeah, I got it. $40 for 5.1 surround sound with receiver and sub. Now to see how long it lasts.

It's not a bad price, but it's definitely low end (I started with an RCA system). You likely won't be blown away by sound quality, but it should be acceptable for using as a stereo.

Don't have a surround system from them, but I still have a 32 inch RCA tv from 1989 that still works. images/smilies/lol.gif

Yeah the TVs I have had from them have been good to me. The surround sound system still works, I just felt like upgrading to something a bit better. It should work for a long time, it's just not going to be spectacular.
