If I understood it correctly, popups can occur in Firefox if you click on a link thus enabling the site to open them because you clicked it and therefore requested a new page to be opened. |

Rep Power: 25 | As said before, if they're popping up even tho your not surfing then it's malware/spyware. Spybot S&D, Adaware, MS Antispyware, Counterspy, and if those don't work, HiJackThis!

That little proggy is powerful and killing the wrong process could crash the whole system... Yup, I too use Firefox, with the adblock extension to name only one, AdAware, Spybot and my antivirus as a firewall built in. Better safe than sorry and when in doubt I scan with all four tools and always end up finding some stuff I thought wasn't there.
