Default Just Seen the great robot race

Just watched this documentary about a robot vehicle race around the Nevada desert. Awesome IMHO, a Volkswagen, Hummer, motor bike, truck etc. great - check it out if you can.

... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.

I'd assume your talking about the DARPA Grand Challange. You can watch the whole episode from PBS' series NOVA online. Might be the same video you saw on bbc. Its pretty awesome:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/darpa/

I'm currently on a design team working on a jeep rubicon for the competition next year. The bot has been made by electronics and computer science folk so its pretty ugly and I'm with the group of industrial designers trying to make it prettier. At least help integrate it more. Our team was @ the final last year with thier old bot, its the little 6 wheeled ATV lookin one.
