There is a fairly basic explanation of running two OS's here: http://www.computing.net/unix/wwwboard/forum/5844.html.

It's fairly pretty straight forward to run a dual boot - I ran a Win98SE\WindowsXP dual boot for quite a while.

Well, I personally have had a Mac all my life, and I can tell you, its great. We don't have to deal with any viruses, adware, spyware, ect....

You can also say goodbye to crashing as OSX literally can't crash.(Apple designed a program to crash it and the program could only crash itself)

Cost isn't an issue either. If you price out equally powered Macs and PCs, you will find they are very similar. That requires some looking into however as a 2 ghz Intel doesn't equal a 2 ghz G5. The closest brand name comparison that I can think of is Alienware.

Also, if you are worried about a lack of games, don't be. Every major title comes out for Macs. If you buy one I can send you an invite to a Mac only torrent site so you can get all your software free. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I was thinking about switching to mac a while back... but then I was thinking of all the things I would be giving up... like loads of software available, alot of games and I just didn't have the time to learn a new OS again... maybe in a couple of years when I have more money I would consider it again

You would be better off getting it new from this site, their Apples are amazingly cheap. My friend and his sister both got their computers from there.

Easy Question, but too many choices...

I want to see the best bitchen laptop...lets say around 2-3 grand..
atleast has to have 256 MB Video card (Atii perferred)
Dell's XPS has all i want but the end goes up to 4 grand (sound card, 2 gigs ram, 3.0 GHZ, the works)

and i don't want XP pro, rents have coperal edition, no anti vvirus thingy, have it, and no word stuff, have it

Check out the MV Ixius 3.6 if you're wanting a gaming laptop. It's the only one I know of at the moment that uses the new nVidia GeForce 6800 Go. It's a bulky beast tho, but if you're considering the XPS, that won't matter to u I'm sure! images/smilies/smile.gif
