Default Looking for a Graphic Tablet

i thought it was appropriate to make a new thread about my question instead of talking in the "looking for a new gampead thread".

So, i'm looking for a tablet (never worked with one before) so i'm looking for it to be precise, a bit fast (not that i have to wait one second for it to draw the line after i'm done because it will be irritating after a while) to be around the 60 euro price tag and to be worth it.

thanks again

i got a large (10 inch?) tablet from Aldi. i was pretty much after the same thing when i bought it, i think it only cost £15 (no more than €40 i think).

it plugs into USB, comes with a stylus and a mouse, and works exactly like a normal mouse (no delay at all) overall i'm very pleased with it, i use it for skin making in Photoshop.

so if you have an Aldi near you, go and ask about it, or look for a Tevion tablet on the bay images/smilies/smile.gif

I recently bought a Wacom Intuos3 9x12 tablet. I got a deal from a friend, so it was about the same amount as the retail price of the 6x8 tablet, and I must say I absolutely love it! It came with the pen and holder, as well as a mouse which works great, although I tend not to use it. There are also four buttons on either side of the tablet which you can customize to do almost anything (i.e. undo, eyedropper, etc.), and two touch strips for scrolling (usable by either the pen or your finger).

The size of your tablet should be what's comfortable for you, so small is not necessarily worse. It depends on your hand movement. Plus smaller means cheaper. I like the larger space personally. You can do larger sweeps.

From my own personal experience, Wacom would be an excelent choice. Granted, I've never used another brand, but after using a Wacom Graphire for seven years, I've never really had to/wanted to. My two cents.

ok so what i found for now is a wacom Bamboo One A6 it's kinda small so i fear it will be irritating, the Wacom Intuos 3 A5 is way out of my price range at 470 euro it's preety steep. Am i expecting to much for the price i'm looking for ?

Any way thanks for the reply's images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Oh, and anyone have experience with Genius models ? I can get a quite bigger one for the price but i've heard those models are more of navigating on pc than on drawing and stuff.

It all depends on your level of experience and intended use. Wacom caters specifically to the "graphic" market so that means that they're designed to be drawing tablets. About the size thing, the Bamboo One A6 seems to be about the same size as my graphire (older model) and it has served me well. This doesn't mean you'll be satisfied with it but that's the best I can tell you. Also, the Bamboo seems to be a good little starter tablet, so it might "fit" you just right. The stylized dual "watisdis" pic on my sig was done with the said tablet, so you be the judge on that end. That's about the best advice I can give. images/smilies/wink.gif
