Default Need a MBM replacement system monitor

I used MBM5 on my old PC, but that thing stopped getting updated long ago and doesn't have a preset for my new motherboard.

Is there anything updated a bit more recently that I could use? I liked MBM5 as it had my temps in my tray, supported IRC spam, etc.

Halp!

I use SpeedFan to monitor my system temperatures. It also reads S.M.A.R.T. info, fans' RPMs and system voltages if your system is so equipped.

Well, I know about those kinda programs, but I was looking for less like "here's a complete readout of your PC" and more of a "here's a cool stats thing running in your tray".

Although really, I guess I don't need that crap in my tray. I've just used it for 4-5 years, so it's kinda weird without it.

Core temp

Simple, displays cpu temps in tray but I think it needs to be re-open each time your start your pc.

Speed fan also displays cpu temps in the tray but needs a bit of an adjustment with Core 2 cpu. I read that it is off by 15 degrees if it isn't adjusted.

Too simple for my tastes. No configuration that I can see.

No worries though...

... as I didn't realize this one had a system tray option!

Now to get it to just do that and not mess around with my fan speeds or anything...

+1 for speedfan. I mainly use it to control the fan speeds, though. The Asus routine for regulating that made the fans do a weird hum at times. At the LAN I just came back from my system was the 2nd most silent. I only have the stock cooler, though, the other guy had a 300Euro watercooling system that wrecked about 500Euro hardware over te time he has had it images/smilies/lol.gif

/edit: Viper, Speedfan only does 1 readout in the tray, afaik. You have to mouse over to get the complete stats you selected.

Oh, yes, of course. You can also tell it to display the temperature reading of your selection (ie: CPU temp, CPU core temp, HDD temp, "local" temp, "remote" temp, etc.)
