^ Then go for it if you can find a deal on the 9800... it sure seems like they're giving discounts everywhere on those right now.

It runs cool and quiet... of course, that's when you're not playing Crysis at max settings. But it's good to know you can run anything on max settings with the 9800GTX. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I'm gonna sitt and wait for the arrival of the HD4800 series and the 9900 series.

Until then... Crysis stays on medium~high setting. Ultra high quality is like watching a bloody slide show.

I need money. Lots of money. images/smilies/mad.gif

^ It might, depending on what other stuff you have in your case. I do fine with a 500W PSU, but you need to have two power connectors to hook up to the card.

There are sites that works out how much power you are using and how much power you need.

eg. : http://educations.newegg.com/tool/psucalc/index.html

450W sounds fine to me(depending on the brand), but more importantly.. how many amps does your PSU's +12V rail(s) offer?

Exactly. If you have strong +12V rails, you should be fine. It's not just the total wattage that matters. There are some 500W+ power supplies that would suck even worse because they have such weak +12V rails.

Sorry for the hijack, but I too am considering a 8800GT. What would be a good solid PSU for this card?

I've had this PSU for over a year and it's very solid:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371002

Three +12v rails for great stability images/smilies/thumbup.gif

You can also get a 650W version too if you got the extra cash and just want more wattage:

Actually it seems like the 9900 might be out soon, all rumors point toward July so if top-drawer performance is what you're after, might as well get something cheap from ebay for now and wait till that's out. Either way if you decide it's overkill (or the 9900 turns out to be a bit of a fruit) it's still likely to drive down prices on the 9800 series.

9800 details/rumors: http://techreport.com/discussions.x/14734
Quote:
"GeForce 9900 GTX" products that will feature 240 stream processors, 32 raster units, 1GB of GDDR3 memory, and 512-bit memory interfaces.
A single 9900GTX should be faster than two 9800GTXs in SLI (or the GX2), since all of those 240 processors come on just one die (no bandwidth, memory allocation loss from SLI).

Battery seems fine to me. Anyway since you get a dock, I really don't mind putting in every few days.

^ The battery should last you about a week, unless you're using it 24/7. But it does suck compared to newer Logitech products... my diNovo Edge keyboard I think supposedly gets 60 days of standby on the battery.

It's a sweet mouse, especially if you got it free. I actually got 2 of them for free... I bought one which wouldn't charge properly after a month. I called Logitech and even though they told me how to fix it, they mailed me a new one. I didn't get it for a while so I called them and they sent me another new one. Eventually I fixed my original unit and got both of the replacements in the mail. Now I use them until the writing and stuff rubs off, then throw out the mouse and use another one in my arsenal. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I do have wet dreams about the infinite scroll wheel on the MX Revolution though.

MX1000 is way too heavy. I use a G5 (awesome Amazon deal a couple of years back, cost me $20) but I love my dad's MX Revolution (another Amazon deal, $6 after rebate!).

$6.99 actually. It was a pain in the butt and I almost swore off Amazon for messing everything up. The deal was sort of a price mistake, I think they intended it to be $36.99 after rebate, not before. There was a $30 rebate from Logitech (which they honored) but it took almost a month for the order to go through.
