Rep Power: 8 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't think you can do reliable encryption on files that are uncrypted... There are some programs which do that but 500 gigs would take prolly days to encrypt (one source quotes "10 gigs per hour"). Like said, get maybe another 500 gig drive and make a TrueCrypt file or two for it. Then throw your stuff in there. http://keskustelu.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/290990 - That's a thread on a Finnish forum about encrypting stuff, the screenshots are pretty easy to follow. edit: I just read the rest of the posts and Jesus fucking Christ they're not gonna bother with that shit. I'm not sure if it's even legal to check someone's external hd. Last edited by psdf; June 16th, 2008 at 12:20 PM.. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I run/ran Gerpok, which is hosted on the same server as FG. As to why I suggested such a crackpot solution, the only excuse I can come up with is that the last time I tried to hide files without using mil-grade encryption was using DOS, which was more picky about such things. edit: psdf is right of course. Unless the country you're flying to/from is way more anal about piracy than the US, you have nothing to worry about. |
