What's the difference between a business PC and a "home computer"? My dad buys the business grade computers from Dell and from what I can see there is no difference, just less powerful videocards and more powerful processors.

Generally a lack of cooling. I don't know some computer companies like Fujitsu Siemens make great business PCs and terrible gamers PCs / Home PCs.

Guess it was a bit of a sweeping statement, I'll do some research before I make any more comments - though considering it's a computer that you can buy directly through Amazon, I'm quite worried.

EDIT--- well, from the reviews I've read, looks like I spoke too soon, most seem to like it, though it needs a graphics card and Win XP rather than MCE - so looks like it was a good choice. Sorry to have worried you. I'm annoying like that :/

That, depending on your cooling flow, can actually wreck your case's cooling capability. Computer cases flow air from the front to the back to cool all the componenets, which is why the case is a closed system. Leaving the case open means it will suck in air from the side instead of the front, thus missing many of the components and relying on ambient cooling (extremely inefficient) to keep temps down.

Theres one fan in the back to blow it out...the side case has holes everywhere and the word "HP". I'm pretty sure leaving the side open is better.

1000th post!

Leaving the side off is usually a bad idea - not only will it make your computer a l;ot louder, but it will also reduce the effect of the cooling. The cases are designed to guide the air around the hottest components (if they're designed well anyway), so taking the side off will ruin this airflow and will probably cause higher temperatures than leaving it on. This is a common mistake that people make when their computer is overheating and usually does more damage than good.

Dont leave the side off, rather make it proper internal air flow,

Take in air from the front
Exhaust from rear.

Done.

My computer's "side" is off(actually it's the top) and it has been effectively cooling down ALL my parts. THe initial problem was there was no good line of air flow within the case due to lack of exhaust fans. So my CPU was idling around 46C before. Now it's only at 35C.

Nice hardware, but a shame it's some premade thing in a shitty case. Hardware like these should be put in a decent case with decent, silent cooling for your cpu, graphics and hard disks.
