| .sa = bad driver! | Dammit, my laptop has an 8400 GS in it! And not being in North America or Europe means that even if there's a class-action suit or a recall, I'll probably be SOL when it comes to getting them to replace mine. ![]()

| Wow, now I'm glad my laptop only has a 7400. And luckily, my 8800GT is G92 core, so no worries there.

| 8600M GS here. Runs pretty hot as it is. They had better get some sort of compensation ready if this dies!

Rep Power: 21 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The Inq is probably exaggerating it a bit. I've built a rig with a 8600GTS for my cousin about a year ago, it's still running fine. And so far there haven't been a large number of people with 8600GT/S reporting problems either. The laptop versions might have problems because of heat, but the desktop version still have decent cooling. I don't think desktop users need to worry about this.

Car: Invisible boatmobile Rep Power: 48 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have an 8600 GT and its been working fine so far. I've had the comp for almost a year now. I might move up to the 8800 GT just because of the higher framerate. I guess this sort of helps with convincing me with that. Question is, will NVidia be buying me it? Last edited by LurkerPatrol; July 16th, 2008 at 03:51 AM. Reason: I said paying me for it when i meant buying me it and i left it as "buying me for it" >_< |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | TBH, by the time that the cards are "supposed" or "should" die, you will be on your newer, faster cards. But, nVidia better be ready, because there are a LOT of these cards out there. Not in enthusiast systems luckily, but they are very common in the average home PC on sale ATM. |
