| I found the VF900 and VF1000 GPU Coolers from Zalman and they are $43 and $53 respectively from ncix.com. Since both those are getting very good reviews I would most likely get one of those. My question is, what others are out there that would provide excellent cooling and be quiet at the same time. The stock cooler sounds like a rocket taking off. I won't be overclocking this card but the problem I'm having is that it runs at 96°C when playing games and I start getting artifacts. Today VPU Recover kicked in. I'm definitely having a problem cooling the card.

| i just installed a Accelero S1 on my Geforce 7800GT and i'm loving it ![]() (it will fit on a x1900 too)no noise and 15-20°C lower temp on idle and full load, but beware it's quite big and won't fit into every case ![]()

| You might want to take a look at the Thermalright HR-03 as well, it's one of the top-rated heatsinks. Probably even run that one passive on the X1900, if not add a low-rpm 92mm fan.

| I read up on the HR-03 Plus for the 8800 and it looks good. I'd probably go with the fan of course since this 1900 I have runs quite hot. I downloaded ATItool and changed the fan speed at different temperatures to basically 100% once it reaches 80 Celsius. Still too high for me though. The stock values were a joke. The fan was set to run at 62% at 97 Celsius and at 101 it was supposed to run at 100%.

![]() ![]() the cooling power of this thing is really incredible everywhere i looked it got rave reviews (e.g. newegg ) ...there are some people complaining that the ram heatsinks are not sticking very good but that wasn't a problem for me ( just clean your card properly before sticking them on)

I'm running a HR-03 on a X1950pro, and it's excellent as well (never gets above 45°C with a 12cm Papst @5V). I'd still recommend the AC though, probably with a large, slowly running fan.
