Default Oregon Scientific Crystal Weather Station with 3D icons

Quote:
The upcoming Oregon Scientific Crystal Weather Station looks like an interesting concept. Laser engraved 3D icons in crystal with colour highlighting and a radio controlled digital clock in a slinky form factor. And the 'change mode with a wave of the hand' is just icing on the cake really. Wonder when it will hit the stores? The rumors say this thing will ship in December for about $60 -- just in time for that rain icon to be rendered totally inaccurate.

Weather station with laser engraved 3D icons in crystal. View the weather forecast at a glance with colour illumination. Precise, worldwide time keeping with radio-controlled clock reception. Change the display mode between time and indoor temperature with just a wave of your hand. Easy-to-read animated display of time and indoor temperature with bright LED backlight.
60$....It's a lot for a clock, but for something looking like that, I'd get one!

I saw this the other day. If it has an alarm, I think i might buy one when they come out.

Looks incredibly sweet indeed, but I do have my doubts about the real-life looks (nothing is as easy as makin a 3D render look cool), and 60 dollar isn't really that much for design stuff) and about the accuracy of that weather-prediction system (fancy laser-engraving and leds won't help you if it predicts sun during a thunderstorm...)

Oregon Scientific makes some kickass stuff. I have a couple nice wireless thermometers from them. images/smilies/smile.gif

And it updates it's time based on the Colorado atomic clock too!

... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.
