Default Photoshop Elements 6...worth it?

Since I only find torrents of CS3 that is full of naughty things, is Elements worth buying? Lightroom is great, but does not have things I need like magnetic lasso and such.

Won't be able to answer your question, but I have used a version of Photoshop Elements that came free with something I bought (camera, scanner or printer) and found that it had most of the stuff I needed. It was like Photoshop geared toward the photographer (can't remember if it had the magnetic lasso). The full CS3 suite is huge and too much for most.

Can you give us a price comparison between them?

And what naughty stuff are you referring to? Trojans?

Only thing I don't like about elements is the lack of a pen tool images/smilies/sad.gif

Otherwise I'm sure you'll find all that you need. I'm a CS3 user myself (sounded like I'm admitting to being a druggie or something).

If you're going to pay it may be worth it to get elements, but if not then definitely go for CS3. I myself had the same exact problem, but then my friend got me CS3 and all those things I thought I wouldn't need came in really handy once I got good, now my friends call me a photoshop wh*** lolz. Not in a bad way though, I do digital art and manips mainly. images/smilies/tongue.gif
