Default Primed For Pole Position: Logitech G25 Racing Wheel

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/ne...=12020,crid=34

Quote:
A member of the company´s extreme-performance G-series family of peripherals for PC gamers, the Logitech G25 wheel offers advanced features which, until now, could be found only in specialized or custom-made racing simulators that sometimes cost thousands of dollars to assemble. These features include a six-speed gated shifter and clutch pedal; two high-torque force-feedback motors; an 11-inch wheel; and a full 900 degrees of rotation. The wheel, shifter and pedals are made with premium materials such as stainless steel and leather, delivering the look and feel of parts from a race car cockpit.
Quote:
The Logitech G25 Racing Wheel is compatible with current racing titles, such as rFactor™ and Live for Speed...
8)

Not very cheap though, $299.99. Sound nice on paper, looks like logitech finally realized they need to use better materials and make their racing products a bit more robust. We'll have to wait for some tests though (once its out), to see if this is indeed as good as it sounds. images/smilies/smile.gif

Ooooh! images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

Why only 2 buttons on the wheel though?

judging from the reactions, thats the wheel everybody was waiting for. as of yet, there have only been rather affordable ones and those hand made specialists ones you had to sell your kindey for.

i just hope its not too limited...i want one. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Accelerator and brake pedals too far away though - no heel to toe! images/smilies/wacko.gif
Looks sweet though - maybe when it comes down a bit in price (haven't used my current wheel in a while as it is...)

I don't think they are far away. Also look at the shape of the pedals, brake is a bit wider on top, accelerator wider on bottom, so heel toe should be fine imo. images/smilies/smile.gif

I also like the bigger diameter, 24cm for DFP 30cm for this, should feel way better than the current toy sized wheels. images/smilies/smile.gif

I wonder how long that 6-speed shifter will last...

well, logitech claims that heel and toe is possible so it should be. remember, those are still home-sized pedals. they probably need that distance to allow for heel and toe.

its not a cheap set...and logitech has already used metal internals in the dfp wheel (sadly not in the pedals) so they are aware of the problems with cheap plastics.

Get outa your homes and get a real car, its exactly the same now images/smilies/lol.gif

But seriously...thats fucking sweeet!!! I gotta save up and get me one of those. The DFP seems dull in comparison with its noisey turning action.

Only small issue is I do think the pedals are a bit to far away from each other for some heel and toe action....but we'll have to wait and see.
