| i was recommended some kinda stuff that changes your half open connection number. usually i get along with computers and internet but this one is a bit confusing for me question is, is the stuff on this site any good??? if yes why, if no why http://www.lvllord.de/ here's a little intro: "Event ID 4226 Patcher (4226 fix) What's this all about? After almost everybody knows the <<EventID 4226: TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts>>, I used a day to create for educational purpose a fix for this argumentative feature. Unfortunately there exists no REG-key which could easily be set (would be so nice and easy, right? *smile*). The file TCPIP.SYS in the directory C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS and C:\WINDOWS\SERVICEPACKFILES\I386 has to be changed (system dependend eventually in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DLLCACHE, too)." i downloaded the stuff, checked the event viewer and saw a buch of 4226 issues. so i ran this thing, and set it the connections to 30. kinda trying it out now, but still wouldnt mind a few words from computer geeks im runnig win xp sp2 | |

| Cruzz563|work | Well, I googled the EventID 4226, and google came up with that site first, usually the first couple of sites would reputable because of how google goes about querying searches. It does this by seeing how many site link to that particular and which ever has the most wins ![]()

Like ppl said, it limits the amount of connections to your pc (10 connection per certain port in a certain amount of time). You'll get these kinda errors when useing torrent programs because loads of ppl will try to connect to you. If everything is working fine, I'd leave it. |

| Disabling the default firewall might be a good idea if it's actually causing problems. | |

Car: '06 Opel Astra Rep Power: 17 ![]() ![]() | SP2 limits the amount of simultaneous TCP/IP connections to 10. (don't ask me why). Before SP2 this was standard set to 50 => no problems This limitation CAN give connection problems with P2P, bittorrent, Skype,... these problems can be found in your logfiles with eventid 4226 To solve this problem you can either Google for a patch (there are plenty) or you can use a XP-tweak program (in my case xp-AntiSpy). *edit* Apparently the limit is set to 10 in order to prevent the rapid distribution of Worms, Virusses and Spyware. In case you have no such errors: leave it the way it is |
