It makes sense to have one on your phone - something you always have on you. But why have one on your MP3 player when you already have one on your phone? And I doubt it would be anywhere near good enough quality to replace a digital camcorder.

Well, it is supposed to be a video player as well, ergo camera.

I don't know, especially since the odds are your phone has one already.

But having said that, my music player, phone and camera are all the one thing...

So, I bought a video card and a PSU thinking that a 550w PSU would be plenty, but the video card box states:

Quote:
This graphics card requires:
500 watt or greater power supply with a minimum of 36 amps on the +12v rail.
The PSU I purchased states that it has "A Combined 40A on +12v Rails" but the chart only shows 18a for each of the 3 12v"

I'm assuming EVGA is talking about combined...right? Although...why would that matter more that individually? But...it also says it'll use 2x PCIe 6-pin power connectors or 4 available hard disc connectors...

Chart looks like this: (quick mock-up)

It's okay if I have to return the PSU since I screwed up the shipping of a couple other components so I can't build right away anyways...

What brand is the PSU? A decent 500W will run any video card out there.

You will be fine. The Corsair HX series are very robust and can handle it no problem.

Plus, 18x3 = 54, so no problem there.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it meant combined, or if there was some king-of-all-PSU's that had 36 on one line...just double checking. Thanks!

Some PSUs have a single 12v rail design where all of the Amperage is on the same rail. I had one that had 47a on the single rail.

No. Besides, if you have two 6-pin PCI-E power connectors, you can have one for each rail, and 18 + 18 = 36.

I don't know. I'm with you on this one.

On the other hand how about an FM tuner?

It's about fucking time.

Don't so much care for the FM tuner as the camera.

See, back when I had an iPod touch, I also had a camera...
and guess what happened?
They BOTH got stolen.

It'd be nice to have it all in one so I can keep it on me at all times. Plus my phone's camera is rather shitty, because when I got it I used to have a digital camera.

... Things I want atm:

QX9300 quad-core mobile processor - $360

Second 4870 512MB + Q9550 for desktop - $400

Decent stereo speakers + receiver - $?

I need a job while I'm at college....
Also, recommendation for a good cheap set of floor speakers (Don't need more than 2 towers, but would like sub+mid+tweet in each) and a receiver?

Budget will be really helpful on the stereo stuff. You can go anywhere from 300 to 10,000+

Let's say a budget of around 500.

Also, I'm looking for a set of really fucking cheap speakers for my 360 for my dorm room, anyone know of any that can be had for like 20 bucks or want to sell me a pair? I don't care about anything, really, as long as they work and have a standard input for my 360.

EDIT: The Xbox is running on a VGA cable and I have the little dongle so the L/R RCA audio is converted to a standard headphone/audio in jack thingie.

If you just want a pair of floorstanders and a stereo receiver, I would go with

Infinity Primus P252 - 300/pair

Onkyo TX-8255 stereo reciever.

I really think a sub in a dorm room is overkill and you won't really ever be able to crank it up without pissing of everyone in a 3 floor radius. You could get a cheap 5 or 7 channel A/V receiver for that much, but those also have video switching, which I really think is a waste of effort if you aren't going to be running video through it.

You can also get stupendous deals on vintage receivers on ebay which can sounds just as good as new stuff and have a way better price/performance ratio.
