| Previously Known As Jamesd | Thanks. Smart data recovery is seeming to do the job alright.. I've been a bit of an idiot about this. When I did this about 20 minutes ago, I was fucking around with some programs, and I've written over some stuff, which means I have some dead files. Oh well, I'm getting most of it back Thanks for your speedy replies.. now I'm going to chop my hands off for such stupidity.. @IceBone I think i'll acquire that for next time my hands get stupid.. thanks!

Too bad that when this happened to me, there wasnt any program like Smart data recovery to help me. I was trying to move like 20+ folders by using shift + end (to select all the files) and while doing so, my middle finger bumped the delete button by mistake, and without even looking at my screen (i assumed that windows wanted to confirm on the "moving" process) I hit enter and deleted all my videos... permanently. That was a few years ago, I can still remember that moment when I didnt know what to say but yell "FUCK" like 20 times in extreme anger. ![]()

| Previously Known As Jamesd | I just realised, Smart Data wants me to register... I tried another, most files are dead from that one (Although, it did manage to save a Jeremy Clarkson DVD, but that was a jabba rib. Talk about adding injury to insult!) Not sure if that was something on my part with letting the hard drive continue to write. Probably was Trying GetDataBack, problem is, it wants to scan the whole drive. All 320GB and 600,000,000 sectors of it. Time to come back to it in the morning! Going to take 4 hours on my other computer.. wish me luck on that one.Judging by the info from some of these programs, some of the information was overwritten, but most appears to be good. Just have to wait til morning.. ugh Your story seems bloody infuriating! Believe me, profanity followed my little mishap.. "Fucking crap shit fuck fuck fuck!" seems to come to mind.. I've done this before, actually. I had all these imports for a film I was working on, and I got a shiny new portable hard drive. So I CUT and pasted the files over. Some didn't copy over, and all the originals were gone. Tried some of these programs, no luck. Luckily for me, I'd used some of those files on my other computer, so I was able to get them back from there.. once I remembered. Very, very lucky. Even if I am missing some files, I have some on DVDs. It's still going to be a right pain in the arse.. Never shift deleting again, I tell you what.

| Previously Known As Jamesd | Nah, one of the old ones, his 2000 DVD. "Another release by the almighty Jabba!" right at the top of the whole rip!
