Default Sigh.. Another WINDOWS PROBLEM!!!

Tonight, I was copying some of Top Gear and Fifth Gear from computerA to computerB toinght. It was working for a good bit, i only copy a few files at a time. So i copied about 10 files then suddenly I got an error. Here is the whole story starting from the beginning.

Shared the folder on computerB @ H:\TopGear
On ComputerA, i drag the files to \\computerB\TopGear ( I had a window open for this)

After copying maybe 1/3 of the files, suddenly computerA's windows told me that the folder was no longer accessible, as if ComputerB was disconnected or unreachable.

SO i went on computerB and tried to open h:\topgear, it was really laggy. Here's a more detailed description.
I Doubled clicked the folder to open it. BUT it wouldn't open. When i d'Clicked on it, i saw the hourglass cursor for about 5-10 seconds, then i saw the folder become higlighted. Now after this, the folder isn't even open!!!! Just highlighted!

Next I tried to access it via the network again, didnt work. I accessed the properties of this folder on [b]ComputerB[b], it showed me 0 files and 0 bytes. But the overall harddrive space does not agree with this. If that folder is empty, i would've had like 40 gigs freed up since tg takes a lot of space.

Now i am trying to do a windows error check using the harddrive properties, then click on tools, then check for erros button.

WHAT COULD BE WRONG? I Don't want to lose my Top Gear!!!!

Any suggestions? I am not going to reformat the harddrive no matter what!!

Physical space problem? Buffer overflow problem, got enough page file space on each computer? A background task grabbed exclusive use fo a folder at or above the one you are copying to? Sorry no solutions just questions.

woohoo my scan disk worked. Glad i dont have to deal with it. many people has mentioned that this harddrive might be on the verge of dying so everyone has suggested me to copy essential files.

Its kinda like when you have a huge email and it says "still waiting on it to finish, do you want to continue?" (server may not be responding) you can't mass transfer files of that size cos windows will stag it. you will have to manually do it one at a time or hook up your hdd to the other computer and direct copy it.
