Socket 939

I need a socket 939 processor for a file server i am building.

I know a lot of you are building new computers, so I will help you get rid of your old ones.
I am looking for 3800 X2 and higher please. OBO

I would be very grateful.

TigerDirect had OEM 939 X2 3800s a couple of weeks ago, let me see if they still do.

They have a single core 3800+ or this opteron

yea i am looking at like $40 max
trying to go as cheap as possible

motherboard and 2GB of memory is costing me $20
Using old Emachines case and power supply
I have 2 IDE 320GB HDD
I was able to get a real version of XP Pro for $25 before I left school

So i just need a processor

Try digging through the For Sale/Trade section of the [H]ard|OCP forums. I think I've seen a few cheap 939 chips for sale in there.

last time I was looking at x2 s939 chips, they had actually gone up in price. I dont think they've been made for over 2 years. Maybe look at a opteron 165.

found a AMD 3700+ and HSF on Craigslist for $20.
Not duel core but cheap and it defiantly has more power then a file server really needs
