| So, after 6 or so years my old Microsoft PC wheel is dying, it's not being recognized all the time and working intermittently. So i'm looking for a new one. The kicker is that I now own a PS2 and would like a steering wheel that works with both. Trouble is I have no idea which one to get and which are any good. I've read a lot of good things about the Driving Force Pro, but then again the G25 wheel sounds like teh sex. Does the shifter thingy/clutch pedal work with the PS2? If it does, I need to search no longer. Also, I would want to keep this under 100€s if at all possible. OK you driving experts, advise me!

| The G25's shifter and clutch would not work with the PS2, and I have no idea if the rest of it would. The Logitech GT Force, Driving force, and Driving Force Pro will all work with games specifically designed to use them on PS2, though. They are made for Gran Turismo 3 and 4 but in my experience work with many more games, including (off the top of my head) Midnight Club 3, Hot Wheels Extreme Racing, Burnout 3, and Test Drive Off-Road: Wide Open. They should all work fine with a PC as well. I have still have an old Driving Force than I got for GT3, and plan to use extensively for GT5 if I don't break down and get the G25 (must... have... stick shift...). | |

If you can get a good price for the G25 and are willing to pay it, go for it. You can still use the G25's excellent paddle shifters and the great pedals, so you won't have to suffer any disadvantages over the DFP. Also, you will most likely be able to use the G25 with future games and systems you'll probably buy. Still, the DFP also is a good choice I still recommend, especially as it has become quite affordable.

| Hedgehog Sandwich | I have a DFP and I can't say anything bad about it at all, very good value. G25 is great but maybe overkill. And apparently the shifter is flimsy and breaks easily. |

| I'm browsing the Logitech site and can't find a DF Pro, only a DF GT. Is this the same thing? I'm also quite surprised that the one costs exactly twice of the other...

It also was made to work hand in hand with Gran Turismo, but I suppose it also works with other games. In terms of feel and quality, people say it lies between the G25 and the DFP.

| G25 all the way, you won't regret it. best $270 I've ever spent, worth every single penny.

| Just to clarify, I only have GT4 now on the PS2 and I don't really care about other PS2 games (yet). I suppose as long as it works with the PC and GT4 on the playstation I will be a happy man. I'm quite tempted by the G25 but if the pedal/shifter doesn't work in GT4 I see no point in spending another 150€ for a function I don't need. Besides, to me paddle shifts or a sequential shifter is fine. Also : I need someone to make me one of those cool racing cockpit thingies like this any takers? ![]()

| I have a question (If you dont mind Noodle ) Does the clutch and and the H pattern shifter work with the PC? on a game like LFS, GTR etc.. ? I think it does but it would be nice for someone to acually confirm it. I have no intention of buying them soon because Im lacking money, but its nice to know. | |

| Hedgehog Sandwich | If you start using this for PC games you can buy or build your own H shifter like I did (last year, still haven't got past a mock up version yet) using an old joystick and some free software. I got a couple of old Logitech Wingman Force sticks and a Land Rover Discovery handbrake arm from eBay. The DFGT does look nice, but I don't the that rotating button being much use to be honest. |

Car: A Blue Hatchback Rep Power: 17 ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think the rotating button on the DFGT is for GT5 and controlling the stability control on-the-fly. If so, that seems like quite a nice feature. Like the manitino (?) switch on the Ferrari F430! Although, this will only be useful to you if you ever plan to upgrade to PS3 in the future.

| and now I found another logitech wheel for just 79€! the only difference I found was that it has no shifter (just paddles behind the wheel). Do I really need a shifter, and am I willing to pay 46€ extra for one... decisions decisions...

| Hedgehog Sandwich | You don't need a shifter, especially since the G25 shifter is pretty cheaply made. What is the other wheel you've seen? Old Driving Force or a Momo or something? |

| it was the Driving Force EX

| The shifter won't work right for a lot of PC games either. The game needs to support 1) a clutch button or axis and 2) separate controls for individual gears. Some of the more simulation-oriented games do but most don't, so you'll end up using it like a sequential shift. The paddles on the Driving force should be fine unless you have a specific game in mind that you know works with the shifter. Also, I don't know about the Driving force EX, but the Driving force and GT Force have 90 degrees of rotation in either direction, whereas the Driving Force pro has something like 800 degrees of rotation total. | |
