Streaming video from PC to 360 advice

Can someone please reccomend a decent video converter that can do AVI to WMV?

It has to be Vista 32bit compatible and actually do a decent job at converting. I'm really struggling to find this.

Thanks images/smilies/biggrin.gif

If you happen to have Vista with MCE you'll need this.

http://runtime360.com/blog/

Allows you to stream everything directly to the 360 without any format restrictions.

If you do not have the MCE then your only other option (ASAIK) is TVersity. It works marginally well, I used to run it on XP for a while although I did get so fed up with it I finally installed an MCE in VPC with T360 and this works soooo much better.

Problems with TVersity are the media library interface on the PC is probably the most ugly and least functional of anything I have seen; you can't skip ahead or back ( so you're forced to watch the whole thing again if your system happened to crash 45 min into the program - and it will ); it gobbles memory like it's its job (probably is) and does have tendency to crash more than now and then.

It also does not support video playlists/categories/folders so if you happen to have hundreds of them, well get ready to scroll until your fingers fall off.

But, however horrible, it is a solution no less if no MCE is available and in all fairness, the streamed PQ was very good when it worked.

You can try encode 360, link here

If you dont care about quality, then dont do this converter, this one is mainly for people, like me, who want to stream HD stuff but need to convert it to WMV without any quality loss.
