Default Streaming Video via Bittorrent

Article about the technology: http://torrentfreak.com/p2p-next-int...eaming-080718/

EZTV is now doing it for some of their videos: http://eztv.it/tstream/tstreamhowto.html (easier to understand than TF link)

Software website: http://trial.p2p-next.org/ (even easier to understand with working examples!)

Apparently while it works better with the modified torrent files (.tstream files), it still works with normal .torrent files too. Might be worth trying this client on Sunday for Top Gear with our .torrent. images/smilies/wink.gif

Sounds very nice.

Not something I'd use (watch the shows on my media player / PVR), but that's a really nice development.

It's working with our torrent as well, i tried it with the file from last week. However, it buffered every few minutes. Maybe it won't do that with a few seedboxes connected. Might as well try it during release day images/smilies/wink.gif

I prefer my videos pan-fried, myself.

Seriously though, I've always thought p2p streaming was a nifty idea, but wasn't sure how well it'd work with Bittorrent's inherently random nature, and how much of a problem latency would be. Good to see people are working on it. images/smilies/smile.gif

Yeah, I always download and then watch at a later date too, but it's kind of a cool idea for those who would use it.

Give it a shot. I'd be willing to give it a try.

Give it a try, but also have a regular torrent to download if it fails massively.

I might give this a try if I can watch them through my 360 while they download.

That's the point -- it works with a normal .torrent. I won't be doing anything special on Sunday. images/smilies/wink.gif
