hey, what program do ppl use for displaying subtitles? I use windows media player to view videos.

Um... subtitles would have to be built into the video you're watching... I highly doubt there's a program that would listen to the audio track and translate for you... it's just not possible...

Sorry... misunderstood the question. Not sure of the answer to that... I've never used subtitles, except in DVDs...

There are a lot of options for this. The most used one is BSPlayer (used to be free, could still be).

Personally, I would go with the Freerider solution images/smilies/smile.gif and use BSPlayer.

if you name the srt exactly the same as the movie file it should be played with, with only the file extension different, WMP should display the subs as well.

How about DirectVobSub? That's what I use, and it works with every media player.

Only if you have Direct VobSub installed. WMP itself only knows SAMI-subtitle format (IIRC)
