| Wants Rick Astley's Babies | Yeah, its great... I thought about that one as well, but I wanted 1 gig, and it comes with "only" 512 MB... I also read, that the D750i is better put together than the sister k750i and w800i (in case ppl don't know, its a 750i with nav keys for the mp3 player and it comes with a 512 mem stick instead of a 64...) Anyway: Great phone!!! Buba

Rep Power: 23 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The data is separated over two identical Hard Disks. This means THEORETICAL doubling of the read- and write speeds. In real-life use it means quicker startup times of applications, nicer HD-benchmark results, and higher risk of complete data loss since the failure of one disk means you lose everything on both disks. I have a RAID0 setup with two sata maxtor drives. Works quite fast but you never feel safe :/ Although, it works for one year now without big troubles. I do get more disk-checks by windows than I would like, and, a couple of times a month, windows says it can't boot, but a reboot fixes that. I guess it's some problem with the controller. Another problem is that on-board RAID solutions sometimes use too much CPU power which reduces the performance gain. |

| I've never been a RAID0 fan - I'll stick with separate drives | |

Rep Power: 23 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A safer (but damn expensive) solution for fast storage is buying a Western Digital Raptor. But these cost a lot for few GB.

| Yeah RAID 0 can be a bit risky, but I have all my crucial data backed up onto my WD800JB IDE drive. I usually hook that drive up once a month and add/remove stuff I want to keep. I have it RAID 0 mainly for performance reasons. And so far, my machine is fast. Only bad thing is that when I was installing/cleaning up my system I plugged the power cord in the wrong way to my 9700Pro, I turned the machine on and ZIP! dead card. So I just got a 9800Pro, unexpected and unwanted upgrade, but what the hell..... | |
