I actually use the U3. So i can use Firefox at work without it clogging up my profile or relying on a slow homedir on a fileserver that has a tendency of crapping out. And it beats portableapps in a few respects. It's actually all i use that stick for. I have a 160GB LaCie Rugged for storing files.

I got a new mousemat!
yeah!
http://arpatrons.net/bob/mousemat.jpg
amazingly, it's much better than I though it would be, even though it's a nice ricey blue led thing.
I got the mousemat to go with my new desk, which my mouse doesn't work on:

and the bookshelf (it's the box in the previous pic):

So am I, My mobo has red LEDs on it and I have a red fan installed.

The reason I ask is because one of my friends is thinking about getting a CM stacker. Would you recommend?

Awesome. I have the previous generation of those and they rock my socks off. I have to leave the subwoofer on one notch above "off" to avoid having everyone in my house complain. images/smilies/lol.gif

Probably only available in Germany/Europe, but it beats anything from Logitech.

Teufel FTW. In every comparison i read they mop the floor with all offerings from Creative and Logitech on value for money. The performance is on par, but they're way cheaper.

They only state transport charges for the surrounding european countries, but also say you should contact them via their hotline for other countries. An email might be ok as well, I'd say...

Never heard of Teufel... have you guys heard these new PC-specific Bose speakers? Now those rock my socks to the skies and back.

Personally I have a pair of quite old Monsoon PC speakers and for the price I paid some 8 years ago they sound pretty good. The sound is starting to go though, so I'm looking at a new set of speakers. I just don't understand the difference between regular and PC speakers. For the price you pay for a set of average stereo speakers it seems you can buy some of the best computer speakers. So why don't people just hook PC speakers up to their iPods or whatever?

Even the best PC speakers don't really sound that good compared to regular speakers and a decent receiver. For instance, even the best Logitech sets lack a proper high-range driver and the satellites can't produce great midrange, either. The result is unbalanced sound with too much bass, due to the subwoofer overpowering everything.

I picked up a Yamaha HTR-6030 receiver and some Infinity TSS-450 speakers to get started, the speakers are a bit cheap and lack the lower range I want, but they're cheap so I don't feel bad about upgrading them later on. They still sound much better than the Logitech Z-2200s did.
