I got my new gaming pc up and running, meaning windows is installed, and I'm too tired to carry on installing drivers and stuff.

Specs:
MSI P6N Diamond 680i SLI LGA 775 motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0ghz dual core processor
XFX 8800GT Extreme 512mb gfx
Corsair XMS2 2x1gb DDR2 800
Creative Xf-i sound (came with the mobo, integrated)
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610w EPS 12v PSU
Cooler Master Centurion 590
Seagate 250gb HDD
Sony NEC sata dvd rw

So I haven't tried yet, but: apparently the core is equivalent to one of the geforce 8000 series (not sure which one) but the drivers are more oriented towards cad/cam stuff. But you can get it to perform like a gamer card with driver switch.

I bought it for three reasons:
1. CAD: ProEngineer (for fsae)
2. Lotus Suspension software (for fsae)
3. Compiling linux fast (I want to get into kernel development)

Extremely excited, but copying 15GBs of music over is painfully slow

Not exactly a toy, but I finally managed to procure a roll of film for my mum's 30 year old all manual camera. At 1:30 am at a 24/7 petrol station of all places.
