Just picked up one of these, its nothing lavish, as I just moved recently so I needed something to play DivX videos.. the nice thing too that you can hook UP a USP drive and plays the media from it directly and also it has a HDMI 1080p input.

I just picked up an Asus Eee PC. The keyboard is rather compact and takes some getting used to. So far it's a fantastic little ultra-portable, especially since it costs about the same as a handheld or phone.

I do think the Eee PC could use a memory upgrade since it only comes with one gig.

The new Eee's look so nice, but I can't see when I'd use one.

Does anyone here use a desktop, a laptop and also an Eee? What do you use it for and where? images/smilies/wacko.gif

My MacBook Pro needs a new battery and it's dented all over. I could use a new laptop.

Bastard!

I looked into Comcast, but the DSLReports forums told me to not do it due to the bandwidth I'd use.

As of now (a little, but not much, of the upload is LAN):

Code:
Month Incoming Outgoing Total
January 2008 222.3 GB 52.4 GB 274.7 GB
February 2008 227.3 GB 97.6 GB 324.9 GB
March 2008 213.1 GB 106.4 GB 319.5 GB
April 2008 205.8 GB 131.1 GB 336.8 GB
May 2008 95.9 GB 110.2 GB 206.0 GB
June 2008 208.7 GB 94.5 GB 303.2 GB
July 2008 159.4 GB 105.6 GB 265.0 GB
Better to be slow and no caps then fast and have to chose what to download I guess.

Well seeing as I can't find a good *legal* torrent to hop on to give that a real world test, it's only a speed test. And I'm yet to hear personal testimony about getting turned off on comcast. Just the consumerist and other reports. Even the guys I've talked to and know who work at the comcast call center in Everett have said they've never heard of or seen a client being d/c'd over hard usage aside from business users who were trying to push TB's over non-business lines.

200 GB/month FTW

still, I hardly ever manage to reach that quota so I don't really see the point of having unlimited downloads...

Viper, how the hell did you manage to fill a 500 GB drive in under 6 months? images/smilies/blink.gif

Remember: all those excellent no-pre packs (i.e. all those whole-TV show packs that are my favorites) are free leech!

Just finished downloading all episodes of Futurama. images/smilies/love.gif
