Who are you with? Novus is downtown only, but I get 10mbps for $38ish.

Even Shaw I think offers 6mbps for the cheapest plan.

Also, just checked out Novus' site, and it looks like I've gone from 60gb/mo. to 110gb! That's a nice deal for sure.

Picked up a Asus Eee PC 1000H this afternoon.

It's quite decent. I found the keyboard really difficult to use, but got used to it in a few hours. It's pretty heavy for a netbook, but then again you do get a 10" screen, 160gb HDD and a 6 cell battery.

Only thing is it plays 720p really choppily, but I'm hoping to fix that with a codec or something. I knew it wasn't a multimedia powerhouse, but I didn't think it would be so choppy on 720p to make videos unwatchable.

There isn't much point playing HD videos on the 10 inch screen, but it would be a hassle for me to re-acquire all my HD videos in non-HD for the Asus.

Finalleh got me Popcornhour A110 on my Samsung TV (don't know the "). I got a Seagate 1TB drive to put in it.
In total (shipment + taxes + hard drive) it cost me 320 euros, but for that i have a 1TB NAS + torrent facility + great multimedia portal that plays from hard drive, USB and network without a glitch.

I ordered it on august the 27th, it shipped on september 29th and i got it on october the 1st. Shipping works great.

Plays HiDef really really well. Torrents also work great, but it's a pity you can't select files in that torrent that you don't want. Also, the torrent client doesn't work on some trackers.

Actually, I don't see that much difference between standard HDTV rip and a 720p rip...

It runs a bit hot, so i'm planning to put a 30*30*10mm fan in it, but I can't seem to find one here in Belgium.

Hell, I might be able to find one in an old PC here at work(we seem to leave a lot of them laying around) and ship it to you. Although I have no idea how expensive that'd be, but probably a bit.
