I remain certain that, like everything else Motorola has made in the last decade that Verizon has sold, they will find a way to screw it up.
My question is, what did Verizon cripple on it?

A Verizon CEO said that they've left the phone alone. Seems unlikely, but there is always hope.

Well the Verizon version doesn't get multitouch, whereas the GSM version that's going around does. Not a huge thing to not have, but a not a minor thing to not give us when clearly the device is capable.

^ Sigh, I need to upgrade my Driving Force, but those wheels are so expensive... and really, if I was to upgrade it would have to be a G25/G27 for the stick.

I've tried the Logitech and this wheel is just better on so many levels. It feels nice and meaty and it's so amazingly smooth. I don't know if it's stronger than the G25 because I didn't get to play with the settings on the Logitech, but on 100% hardware and 50% software the 911 is very, very strong. Totally worth the extra 50 bucks. Drift mode is also very cool. The only problem is they didn't include the adapter for my Microsoft pedals, so for now I can only play PC sims by using the face buttons for the gas and brake. Ruins it quite a bit. Gotta wait for them to ship me the adapters. Last edited by MadCat360; November 3rd, 2009 at 3:20 AM. |

Actually, I'm looking at the Fanatec wheels (they named them after the 911 range, which only makes it just as confusing
), and the 911 Turbo looks impressive. Wireless wheel and pedals, sequential and H-gate shifters, PC and PS3 compatibility (this would be mostly used for Gran Turismo), all for less money than the Logitech. Dammit, now I am actually considering it.

^ Yeah, but prepare to wait for it, though... Mine are on the boat from China...
I've actually met somebody who used to have lots of shares in Endor AG (company behind Fanatec) and he did tell me some good stories... The gist: Always great products, always lots of waiting time... Well, others are off far worse than me, waiting a couple of months instead of only 6 or 7 weeks...

Well, Fanatec said they shipped the pedal adapters at the same time as the wheel. Why on earth they didn't put it in the same box is beyond me. UPS just drove by without delivering anything sooo... I hope it gets here this week. It's so frustrating, I want to experience this thing in all it's glory!!!

Well, no and yes. I still prefer the tactile sensation of the physical keyboard, but on the Droid the keys are so small and flat that you can barely feel your way around them, much less type anything at a reasonable pace. It's like as if it were designed for The Incredible Shrinking Man.

ooh that USB thingy seems neat. I already have 2 in the front of my desktop and 4 in the rear + a small hub with 4 extra USBs, yet all is full ATM
I could just stop buying extra stuff for the computer though... |
