Yeah, i've used my fair share of crappy $10 knives in my lifetime to hate them with a fiery passion. Trying to cut tomatoes with those things is such a chore so I decided to splurge on a high quality German knife. And no, i'm not some slasher.

I'm thinking to buy one too.
But I was thinking of the G25
http://www.playfeed.com/blogimages/logitech_g25.jpg

But since that 's about €240 I think I'll go for the Momo wheel:

http://www.proline.pl/pictures/logitech_momo_racing_force_963282_0914.jpg

That one I can get for about €110

Finally bit the bullet a couple of days ago and picked up the TV i've been after for ages

Samsung 26" LCD, HD Ready, Digital. blah blah blah

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/4435/cimg0773mx1.jpg

and yes it did get a good clean around the edges as soon as i had seen the picture myself images/smilies/biggrin.gif

But possibly the greatest new toy to grace this thread ever is to follow........the christmas present from my girlfriend!

http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/8654/cimg0776wh8.jpg

how sweet is that! Already well into building it and its a beast, will be nearly 30 inches in length once completed images/smilies/biggrin.gif

amazing aint it. I had a technics car as a kid, rememeber it being a right bugger to build.

Always had lego at christmas but i aint seen anything like the sheer size and complexity of this one before.... Box says 10-16 year olds. Bolllocks I say, its making me struggle as is.

Will post a pic of the completed car with something for scale once its finished to give you and idea of the size of it. Don't expect it to be done for a couple of days though images/smilies/smile.gif

Technic legos are just awesome images/smilies/smile.gif I got this huge car (8880) for Christmas some 10 years ago, I still build it from time to time images/smilies/tongue.gif It's actually my only Lego that has all the pieces, instructions and box still around.

New sets are made of a lot of custom elements. Those oldskool things were made of mostly generic pieces which made it more interesting and possible to build things of your own.

LEGO is going back to the generic elements style lately, in new boxes there's a lot less custom elements than in boxes sold a few years ago.

I'm bitter, I never had any pneumatic legos images/smilies/sad.gif dunno why, I thought they were pretty cool when I tried some at a friends place some 10-15 years ago. I had two motors though, one old (all grey, the battery compartment was a round "stick") and one new, "boxy kind" with red buttons.

Edit: Apparently the old motor was 4.5V (the "stick" took 3 C/D-batteries if I remember correctly) and the new ones (2 motors, regular and a slower one with more torque) are 9V with six 1.5V AA.

Pnumatics were awesome! I had the one that had the blue forklift. I always tried to make a lowrider out of 'em (lowriders are cool when you're 12), but it never turned out quite right. Boy, how I miss me some Legos!

I got one almost-finished of those on the top of my closet. Never used it after I assembled it many, many years ago.
